Quincy Whitney’s American Luthier
My friend and poetry workshop contributor Quincy Whitney has published her biography of Carleen Maley Hutchins, the most innovative luthier of the modern age. American Luthier tells the surprising story of a self-taught genius colliding with an ancient guild—and I think Quincy’s own energy and dedication may be match for that of her subject. After devoting years of intense focus to the writing of this unique biography, Quincy has scheduled thirty readings over the next several of months. She’ll appear at venues from Virginia and the Carolinas to her native New Hampshire. Next year, she’s on to Edinburgh, Scotland!
